Easter Holidays Guide

“Children see magic because they look for it.” – Christopher Moore

The Easter holidays have come early this year and your probably thinking what can I do with the children? I have put together some ideas and helpful information below;

Getaways:

#1 Family-Friendly Holidays: If you are planning to go abroad, research resorts & accommodation tailored for families with young children. Beach destinations where toddlers can enjoy building sandcastles are amazing

#2 Amusement Parks: Explore parks with dedicated areas for younger kids with age appropriate rides and other interactive things to do

#3 Rural Holidays: Choose farm stays offering hands-on experiences such as feeding animals and tractor rides

Packing Essentials:

#1 Equipment: Bring along any essential equipment you may need like a pram, baby carrier, travel cot & car seat

#2 Hot Weather: Pack hats, suncream, and light clothing to protect sensitive skin from the sun

#3 Comfort Items: Include favorite toys, security blankets, and cuddly teddies that will help your little ones feel at ease in a new environment

#4 Snacks & Drinks: Ensure lots of toddler-friendly snacks and drinks to keep them energised

#5 Health Kit: Carry essentials like pain killer medicine, antiseptic lotion, a thermometer, and any prescribed medications

Activities:

#1 Easter Egg Hunt: Arrange a simple egg hunt around the house or garden

#2 Craft: Set up a crafting corner with Easter-themed bits & bobs like egg painting, finger painting, easter themed stickers & colouring

#3 Outdoor Fun: Take advantage of nature with activities such as scavenger hunts, bubble blowing, and pathway chalk art

#4 Story Time: Spend some time reading & looking at Easter stories

#5 Planting Seeds or Flowers: Teach your toddler about growth and nature by planting seeds or flowers in pots or a small garden patch. Involve them in watering and caring for the plants

Safety Tips:

#1 Supervision: Ensure constant supervision of little ones, especially around water, unfamiliar animals, or crowded spaces

#2 Allergy Awareness: Be mindful of food sensitivities when involved in Easter festivities or sharing treats

#3 Sun Protection: Keep your little ones shaded during peak sunlight hours and use lots of suncream

#4 Hydration: Encourage regular hydration, particularly in warm climates or during active play

#5 Rest Periods: Schedule regular breaks to prevent exhaustion

Flexibility:

#1 Adaptability: Embrace spontaneity and be prepared for changes in plans or routines while traveling

#2 Nap Opportunities: Try & plan activities around nap times or think about incorporating a nap in the pram whilst you are out and about

#3 Backup Options: Have alternative activities ready in case of bad weather or unforeseen circumstances

By planning thoughtfully and remaining flexible, Easter holidays with babies and toddlers can be filled with joy, laughter, and cherished family memories. Prioritise safety, comfort, and age-appropriate activities to ensure an enjoyable experience for everyone!
